This is likely my first and last thread. Please understand I am 43 years old and not a hacker...

I have a 3.1.3 I phone and it has been jail broke with the tethered software method with "Blackrain".

Here is my question: I how do I 'UNDO' it. It is an any sim phone from singapore. And I want my old phone back.

Please advise...

If it is a 3GS do you need to run blackra1n each time you restart the iPhone?

By "any sim" do you mean "commitment free" or "factory unlocked" iPhone?

Yes, to the blackrain being run everytime when I start it up.

As for any sim, Factory Unlocked.

Did you save your SHSH? If you launch Cydia (you did install Cydia from the blackra1n icon) does it say anything about having SHSH on file?

Without SHSH, the only way to remove blackra1n is to restore to iOS 4.1

And if restore to 4.1, is hackable to any sim-card because if you update in the Ukraine, it locks you down to one carrier. (I think MTS)

If not, the next time I go to singapore, I will grt it repaired.

That's probably a problem with your iTunes version rather than a windows 7 specific problem.

got blackra1n to work... got lucky and found a howto on EXACTLY where to put it in Windows 7. Got that to work.

On the same page was link that talked about a guy have a similar problem. I got the phone's 16 digit ECID number using USB view.

How can find if I made my life 'easy' or not? And if not, what can do then?

The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella download and run, paste in ECID - click get my SHSH.
