There is a known problem with blacksn0w (fixed in RC2 http://www.hackint0sh.org/f230/117709.htm) that can cause subsequent boots to hang in the same way you reported. This does not happen on every boot and is due to the interaction between the iPhone's initialization of phone, wifi etc and blacksn0w.

Olethros, thanks for the continued help. I`ve tried it all. It simply won`t work.

Olethros (or somebody else),
I've tried all the recommended solutions for getting my 3GS out of the recovery mode. (letting blackra1n run for all night, with different windows OSs; iReb; iRecovery cmd prompt,...) but no solution.
My iRecovery log is posted above. It seems that I'm still with 3.1.2, but I can't uderstand why it would not boot again.
Tried to boot also with Redsn0w 0.9.2. I don't have my SHSH file, so can't restore. Any further suggestion?
Thanks again for the continued support.
