    Unhappy Blackra1n battery drainage!!

Upgraded my iPhone 3G to 3Gs yesterday .. wOOt for me!
Anyway .. i jailbroke it using Blackra1n RC3 and my battery is running down
really fast .. is there a problem with RC3 as i redid my old 3G with RC3 (cos im
selling it on to someone ..) and i could tell that battery was draining fast too ...
is there anything i could do ...
Ive been off the Scene a few months as i was happy with my old jailbroken 3G
soo.. Is it worth redoing it with Redsn0w ..??
    Cheers ..

Indeed. I have the same problem.
I plan to pwn it. Tried in the past, but then would enter reboot loop. I'll try again someday; maybe I did something wrong back then (like too many/buggy preinstalled packages).

Battery life problems related to jailbreak are usually due to hacktivation/half configured push notifications or restoring from iTunes backup.

You did not answer how your iPhone was activated or hacktivated.

Basically, do you use a software unlock? Was your iPhone activated legitimately through iTunes?

What do you mean by a clean install? Did you restore to OS 3.1.2, set up the iPhone as new and then jailbreak straight away with blackra1n?

If you activated legitimately, set up iPhone as new then these are two of the biggest reasons for poor battery life.

Which jailbreak you use should have no impact on battery life. You need to look for other causes.

just got my 3GS today...offically unlocked..and I used Blackra1n cause I need to install Caller ID Fix..and I noticed that battery is running out fast!

Do u think I need to restore it..then try it out without jailbreaking to see the difference??

Did you restore the 3GS from a backup of a previous iPhone?

Generally, the best thing when troubleshooting battery problems is to restore and set the iPhone up as new.

I set it up as new but I did the trick to restore only SMS from my previous backup...
