That should be fine, no battery impact from that

I seem to be seeing a battery issue as well, although I did not use Blackra1n to jailbreak but did install Blacksn0w to unlock

Phone: 32GB 3GS, Pwned using Pwnage 3.1.4 and the 3.1.2 firmware bundle. Hactivated, installed saved keys for push and youtube (see other posts in the general forum) then BlackSn0w to unlock (baseband 5.11.7)

Now on ATT 3G, and battery life seems to be about one third worse than it was yesterday when I was running on the standard apple firmware, I've already used about 60% of the battery and it's only lunch time!

Is there anything that I should check?

You set the iPhone up as new? Did not restore from iTunes backup?

You have an unusual situation in that you really don't need to be running blacksn0w right now (you are on a supported network). I suggested a trick with lockdownd to avoid this.

Blacksn0w is not known to cause battery problems.

    yea, but....

If you read this from the other " how do I do this" topic

Steps for beginner: upgrading 2G to 3.12 and unlocking 3GS

I couldn't get the phone to get a signal on a hacktivated phone prior to installing BlackSn0w. (I was going to run with the ATT SIM for a couple of days before going to unlock)

Once I installed BlackSn0w, all worked.

I'm going to monitor battery life for the next couple of days and will report back.

Try keeping GPS, 3G off when possible.

I know I was vague about the lockdownd solution, but it should have worked...

Well, Apparently I spoke too soon

I restarted the phone again on thursday night and did a good hard charge with the wall charger over night. It's been pretty good on battery life since. (the same as it was before jailbreaking)

Often laptops and some desktop USB ports don't put out enough current to charge as fast or reliably. Also, just because it says 100% does not mean it is finished charging.

Glad it is working better now.
