2 issues - Jailbreak + Respringing
Hey folks, I've got 2 questions regarding iPhone 3GS and OS 3.1.2:
1- Since I installed a clean 3.1.2, my iPhone has been respringing itself after every few restarts. At first I thought it was SBSettings, but then discovered that it was the actual OS itself. Is anyone else having this issue?
2- What leads me to ask this question has to do with the above, partly. Once the iPhone is jailbroken, is there some code that's injected into the lowest form of the h/w architecture which has some impact on the phone even in the future, when it's not jailbroken? For instance, I feel that with the jailbreak, I get a bit less battery out of the device than when I first walked out of the store. I understand the battery is a subject to each person differently, but hopefully you get where I am going with this.
You know how after you jailbreak and you want to restore to a stock OS, the display flashes white for a second? Well, this happened to me even after a clean restore, but the phone has been previously jailbroken. So, I'm a bit confused about that.
Anyway, if you guys know something about this, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks for looking.

If you're loading extra things in the background, the battery will get used more.
For example if you have Winterboard running. It will take up more resources if you use a custom background behind your icons.
SBSettings is also something that seems like it would cause extra drainage.

The extra resources used by sbsettings is actually quite low. It uses a small amount of extra memory and does not consume CPU until you need to use it.
How did you jailbreak?
