Default USB2 not working (but USB 1 works)

    Hi there
Someone can help me with that. I can make USB1 devices work but USB2.0 aren't. These devices don't mount (but they are detected in system profiler).
I tried the Generic USB2.0 (EHCI) Driver : no changes & no improvement
I tried every BIOS option of my mobo : no improvement -> no USB 2

You can see that the finder, desktop and disk utility doesn't show my USB2 flash drive but system profiler does...

It wasn't working also in the 10.4.8 kernel 8.8.1 but on the 10.4.7 there was no issues related to USB

My spec : ASUS A8V deluxe - AMB 64 SSE2 proc, OSX 10.4.9 (update from 10.4.8 following this guide -thanks to the author) kernel 8.9.1

    Someone have an idea.
    Thanx

Did you do both parts of the Generic USB2.0 solution?
(A lot of people only install PCGenUSBEHCI)

Is there and messages in dmesg when you insert a USB device? If so post it please.

    @ Xian Li :
My iPod works on a real mac and an USB HD of a friend having a real mac wasn't working on my hackintosh. I think it's coming from my computer.
Yes it is mounting on XP and vista.

    @Headrush69
I just follow the guide given in PCGenUSBEHCI.zip. What are these both parts (I'm not sure to understand)?
You'll think i'm stupid... but I don't know what is dmesg, but I don't have any error messages showing (such as dialog box or so). Nothing very special happen when I plugg the USB2 device, the computer just don't react...
Tell me what to do if you need more info

If I try to launch USB probe (app given in Apple's USB debug kit) it doesn't load and keep on jumping on the dock until I unplugged the USB 2 device. Evrything is working fine when I use USB1 devices. If that may help (FYI : I install USB probe with pacifist, not with the installer)

    Thanx

I've got a new installation on my Dell E1705, and USB was working perfectly until I installed the ACPICPUthrottler package. Then, I started getting your symptoms, that being when I plug in a USB drive or thumb drive, nothing would mount, no errors, but in System Profiler, under USB, it would show the devices.

I uninstalled the ACPICPUthrottler package, and now my USB devices are working again, except for my Bluetooth mouse, which is identified, paired and connected, but not responding to movement.

Did you happen to install the ACPICPUthrottler package?

OK, I reapplied the 10.4.10 update, and my USB ports are working again.

Maybe you could try applying the 10.4.10 update???

    Thnax for your replies.
I don't have any ACPICPUThrottle.kext on my system. I guess that mean I don't have ACPICPUThrottler package installed.
Concerning 10.4.10, my CPU only support SSE2, so I can't upgrade my system for the moment (as far as I know)
