    Default SSE2 Limitations?

I used to run 10.4.7 on my Pentium 4 SSE2 Box, but it got to the point where things didn't work with just SSE2, iTunes for example had to be run in rosetta to work. Does SSE2 do all the things an SSE3 hackintosh can do or no?

OS X was natively coded for Intel SSE3 processors, SSE2 can do most of what SSE3 rigs can do but much slower.

But with the miracles that semthex can do with the SSE2 kernel, I won't be surprised if he finds a way to run OS X on SSE2 that's decently fast.

SSE3 users will still have the best OS X experience.

Just to make that a bit clearer - the 10.4.7 problem was from using an old kernel that had a very simple SSE3 emulator by Maxxuss, the latest ones by Semthex take account of the new SSE3 instructions now used by Apple and emulate just about all possible SSE3 instructions.

Try the new kernel. I'm lightspeed now. DVD Player for instance, would run in stutter mode. Now it's just great.

I've got real macs and a hackintosh. The main issue is stability. The loginwindow simply quits from time to time which is enraging sometimes and some applications crash a lot.

Can't really say nothing about the stability of the new kernel. Need more testing.

DVD player is working pretty good with the 891 kernel (sse2). I just tried!....

Anyone knows how to activate the Video Color settings? It just dont let me turn it on ("not permited", it says). I have a GF 5200 (qe, q2d, ci supported with natit).....

Edit: If I use the 881 kernel the image plays in sutter mode but I can turn the Video Color setting. with the 891 kernel dvd plays perfect but no way to turn the video color settings....
Also screensavers crash as explained in this AMD thread. Im using a P4 thou....
