Samba Shares and the Leopard Finder
Hey all,
I have run into a maddening problem. I have a NAS with ext3 filesystem on it and store my music, photos, etc.
This has worked in the past and now is doing some pretty bizarre! I can mount the share with the finder or with
mount or with mount_smbfs and get the same results. If I try to copy a file with Finder from the share to the some
where on my mac it will fail UNLESS the case of the file is the same. So if it is all lower case it works and if it is all
UPPER case it works. But if the file name is mixed case it fails every time. However I can cd to the samba share on
the command line and then copy anything that I want.
I believe that this has started after the update to 10.5.1 but I have not yet tried to down grade to 10.5.
The big problem is that I can't transfer music to my iPhone using iTunes. I can play it
off the disk but can transfer music files. Same thing for photos, I can view them, attach them
but try to copy them to the desktop or any where else for that matter fails.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a fix???
TIA
