I am currently looking at building myself a Hackintosh. Is it possible to purchase an actual copy of the OS and install it as it is if I buy appropriate hardware? Or would it not work.

as far as im aware no u cant do this. i thought the same as i thought they are all based on intel chips now, so in theory it should work! hey ho presto it dont! but then again i can even get any of these releases to work yet either so maybe its just me.

why not just torrent off your computer and upload onto your new Hackint0sh >? its the easiest cheapest route. Apple has billions of dollars i don't think they will miss out on very few of us running OS without licenses.
