itouch as a PDA, is it possible?

Not sure if this is the right area to post my question and you all seem very knowledge... I want to use the touch as a PDA, is this possible? I am in the healthcare field and am curious if all the apps out there for the PC based PDA's are compatible with the itouch or iphone? I am in Canada, I know the iphone isn't available here and besides that I am on the CDMA network and not about to switch contracts. Thanx

the iTouch doesn't use a cellular provider like the iPhone. You can prety much use it anywhere in the world..

I get that. Yet, is that a possible application that I can use it for? And is there apps out there that I can use?

most apps (like epocrates) are not yet available for use on the iphone or itouch yet, but many apps should be sometime in 2008

I don't know what makes you think that... Apple does not officially support thirdparty apps yet.

iPod Touch and iPhones are NOT compatible with any other PDA software out there. To find out if there will be software available you'd have to contact the developers of the software you're interested in to see if they're working on or considering a version of their software for the iTouch or iPhone.
