[Hackintosh Support] Can't Boot OS X from Disk, but from CD

Hey Guys

I decided to put Mac OS X on my *old* Asus Notebook (2GB Ram, Intel Centrino M)...

I installed the OS but when i try to boot from the disk it says: failed to boot the OS

When i try to Boot from Disk, it works!

what can i do? And the other thing is the internet. It doesnt recognise my Networkcard, what can i do?

Try a better explain;

if you boot from HDD have fails?

only boot using dvd?

what processor and chipset model?

yeah, sorry dude

when i cange the bios boot configuration to "boot from CD/DVD" i do not have a problem. The OS starts from the DVD and i can work with it.

But when i change the bios boot configuration to "Boot from Harddisc Drive" it says: Cant boot the OS. (Thats all)

i will search the infos from my computer, it's just reinstalling mac os x.

You don't have a bootload installed on HDD;

Check in your prefeered OSX DVD if have a "bootloader" item to install.

If you using a ToH DVD you need bootup OSX DVD and open a Terminal and type:

cd usr
cd misc
sh script.sh (LEOPARD HDD NAME HERE)
reboot

If not ToH DVD, check install options for install a bootloader.

hey thanks for your reply. yeah could be possible that i dont have a bootloader. i always have to reinstall the os when i shut down my computer, cant boot from the hd :(

can you give me an example whit the text that i have to write in the terminal? can i write it before i install the os, in the terminal?

when i startup i can do that:

press enter to start up darwin/x86 with no options, or you can: type -v and press Enter to start up with diagnostic messages
type ? and press enter to learn about advanced startup options.

but i cant select a bootloader :(

yeah i have the ToH Bootdvd

okey i booted up, and went into the terminal, changed directory and now i try to send : sh script.sh XXXXX (my HD's Name ist OS X) but it always says couldnt find specified volume. exiting.

what do i have to type in after sh script.sh ?

Thanks again :) My HDD was called OS X, and it didn work because of the Space. I reinstalled it and called it Leopard.

hey guys

i had to reinstall my running mac os x toh version and just wanted to enable the bootloader via

cd /
cd usr/misc
sh script.sh OSX

but i had to realise that i have a usr folder, but there's no misc folder.
its very strange because there used to be one.

does anyone have an idea how i can boot from the HD, without the script.sh?
