Cloning my vmware installation please help!!!!
has anyone got any ideas about how to duplicate my vmware drive to physical removable 160gb usb HDD. I bought a copy of superduper, it claimed it was going to make my drive bootable, at the end of the process apparently. now this didnt work at all, I found There was a difference in the number of files on drive i.e. /System/....... /Extensions
so i added a custom script trying to copy the differences. Still didnt work
So Wiped the drive again, The device is mounted as a scsi device.
Got the disk id by typing "diskutil list"
formatted the Drive as HFS Journalled(MBR), rebooted installed PC EFI v5 sucessfully.
rebooted
Then tried installing the following images
kalyway 10.5.2
jas 10.5.2
jas 10.5.4
specifying the new device path rd=/dev/disk1s1
the same device path i installed pc efi version 5 to.
I either get a message specifying that the processor has been disabled by the guest OS or the drive cannot be located. Depending which version i use.
Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated I have a copy of jas 10.4.8 but reluctant to try it after buying a legit copy of osx so i was within license and the main reason for using osx is the iphone sdk which cost me $99 to register for the connectivity extensions for developing directly to an iphone device.
this is the processor spec if this helps but i dont think through vmware my physical processor id can be seen, when booting to my image mounting on a virtual disk, registers dual 3.4ghz unknown
