    Default Not detecting any HD!?

My “installation” comes everytime to the state where i´m supposed to choose my target drive!!! There is NOTHING!!! Only my DVD, wich is my startdisk….I have done everything in these guides on the net, but nothing!!!??? What am i missing????? PLEASE HELP!!!!

I have used everything from 10.4.3 Patched Jas v.42b, OSX86 10.4.6 and 10.4.4, and the latest to my “collection” is JaS OS X 10.4.8 SSE2/3 Intel/AMD DVD…all with the same result. Just wont find any harddrives. I´ve got 2. One which i run my XP on, and the other one as a spare. The strange thing was when i had my external media drive plugged in, OSX found it. But now i cant use that disk because it crashed

So, i´m stuck with my internal disk. Should i try to format the disk to something else…like HFS?

This is my spec it´s a HP Package from work :
    Athlon 64 X2 (W) 5000+ 2.6 GHz
    2000 MT/s (mega transfers/second)
    Socket AM2
    Motherboard
    Manufacturer: Asus
    Motherboard Name: A8M2N-LA
    HP/Compaq motherboard name: Nodus3-GL8E
    500 GB (2 x 250) SATA

gondolen...u have to prepare your hd to b used with os x.
issues that can b stopping ur hd to become avail.
1 - u have not partitioned ur hd to be used with os x
2 - u have incompatible disk controller which would lead to ur disk not being recognized

use cpuz and find out wats ur controller in mainboard tab.
have u created any HFS partition???

Not only preparing it, but he's got the *gasp* dreaded SATA interface drives! =) While my machine's SATA controller is older and works okay in OSX, a lot of SATA controllers are not supported or supported only via hacks that only sometimes work (for example, my friend has ich7r, for which a patch exists, but without fail will panic the kernel.)

The very first thing I would do is make sure your SATA controller is going to work. If not, then you're simply out of luck.

actually u arent really out of luck...i installed os x on my nforce4 sata.

it takes time...patience...and also knowledge (include weeks of reading...trial and error)

but it would be easier to help people if they replied to their own threads they started.
