We got a bug report that one of our games crashes on newer MacBooks. So I call the local Apple store to ask if I can come over & test on it. Sure, they say. I go, hook up my hard drive & discover that the Finder will not allow files to be copied or moved in any fashion, even on my external drive. My time was limited (not by them), so I had to leave, but the manager did say there was a special lock down to keep files from being changed in the Finder. (They also apparently set an OpenFirmware password, so I couldn't boot from my external.) I'm going back tomorrow and I think they'll help me, but was curious if anyone knows about this "feature." I don't want to go around cracking store Macs, just want to know if it's documented.
