[Kalyway] stuck at gray apple screen
hello I'm in need of some help I'm trying to install kalyway 10.5.2 AMD and I'm having some problems getting it going I have made a 15gig partition unallocated on my 100gb hard drive. I'm using vista I put disk in tray reboot run disk by pressing f10 at start up. Darwin loader comes up I press any key or do f8 and try a -x next the apple gray screen comes up with the loading cricle sits there for awhile then a small white square with a cricle in it (like a no smoking type sign) and then after a while it shuts down. Can some one please help please. Comp specs below. I have by the way a leo4allv3 and kalyway 10.5.2 AMD discs not sure if ones better then the other. Thx

Try use a Leo4All v3 DVD. Is better for AMD Systemz.

Extension "com.apple.driver.AppleOnboardPCATA" has no explicit kernal dependency; using version 6.0

Not sure if that helps. But it might

It's a incompatibility with your chipset.
Need try test other OSX86 version.
(Or try use other connection of HDD/DVD).

My chipset is a ATi radeon xpress 200m. And i'm not sure whatyou mean by hdd/DVD is there a guide I can read to get an idea? I'm also trying to download some more distro's? See if one works. Thanks for the help so far and any else you give.

I've been trying to get kalyway 10.5.2 to work on my system...but with mixed results. Depending on the options i select during install i get either:
(a) grey apple screen (if i dont select legacy flag)
(b) "still waiting for root device" or
(c) the applenforceata found 0 units code (if i leave that mobo selection checked)...i got it to boot into the os once, that was with the applenforceata box checked...however it didnt read my usb external drive and wouldnt boot back into the os on reboot.
also: I get "appleUSBHCI: unable to inittialize UIM" in the script I've noticed.
Do you think I would have a better shot with leo4all? or can someone enlighten me on which boxes to check during installation or any other helpful ideas...I've been making a chart on what boxes I tick and the results but havent found the right combo yet...
system:
msi 7260 board
nvidia nforce 550 chipset
amd ath 64 dual core 4200+
geforce 7600gt
two 250 gig sata drives (external is usb/not main drive)
also: dual-booting with xp
trying to use:
"Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd"

Leo4All v3 is better for AMD Systemz, Kalyway don't properlly work on there.
