Question [Issue] Samsung HD Not Being Recognized In Disk Utility

    Computer:HP Pavillion dv9904

    My Specs:

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1
    Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00GHz
    RAM: 3GB DDR2
    Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7150M
    Motherboard: nForce 630M
    Hard drive: 2X - 150GB Samsung HM160HI ATA Drive

I am new to dual booting and came across a slight problem. I had shrunk my secondary hard drive to half which it is now 75GB. When I instert the many versions of Mac OSX Leopard's (iAtkos v1.0 R3, Kalyway, Zephyroth, ToH) into the laptop the install DVD does not recognize my hard drive in Disk Utility.

I had inserted the DVD into my desktop computer and it detects the Maxtor HD fine also inserting an external Serial ATA hard drive into the laptop works fine, it is just the second hard drive in my laptop that is not recognizable. Can someone please help me with my situation! Thank you in advance.

This is incompatibility with your chipset (nForce 630M).

Try replace IDE HDD for SATA HDD and try install again.

I believe in this chipset, IDE devices are incompatibles with OSX.

    Goodluck,

After installing leo4all v3 it came with a .ppf patch (Leo4Allv3-OldNforce-PPF) after using PPF-O-Matic I patched the .iso and tried to install again and it recognized the HDD this time.

Unfortuntaly as I speak after attmpting to format the drive it just hangs at "Preparing to erase" and after about an hour gives me an error saying:

    "Volume Erase failed"
    "Volume Erase failed with error:"
    "Operation timed out"

Try use other OSX86 version like Leo4All v3. Or change mainboard/processor and grab a Intel Processor/Chipset (this combination make it run fine).

As I stated, I had used Leo4All V3 and came with the error.

I will change my drive to a SATA drive and try it again and if anything I will reply back to you.

Thank you for all your help.
