    Exclamation Installing leopard with windows already installed?

    Hello,

    I have a few questions about installing leopard on my PC. First my spec's currently are:

    Motherboard: Asus GA-G31M-S2L
    Hard Drive: Western Digital 250GB Sata
    Graphics: MSI Nvidia 8400GS
    Memory: Corsair 2x2GB
    DVD/CD Burner

    I currently have Windows Vista and XP installed and was wondering if I would still be able to install leopard too? Also in addition to all this I keep reading that there are a few different versions such as Debian, Kallaway, and leo4all. So how do I know which version would work best with the setup that i have or if it would even work at all? I would really appreciate the help and I'm sure that others may have the same questions as well.

    Hi Syndicated, you can try JaS 10.5.4 or the latest iDeneb 10.5.5, you need a partition with at least 20GB, this partition have be Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

    In your Bios Enable the processor's XD Features and the SATA Controller Mode to AHCI Mode

    Make sure in the customize your Installation

    Choose these options:
    Chipset->ICHx Fixed
    Chipset->JMicronATA
    Kernel->Kernel 9.5.0 Vanilla
    Network->Ethernet->Realtek8111
    Fix->ApplePS2Controller (if you need PS/2 keyboard and mouse support)

    Good luck

    So I am assuming that I can use Gparted and partition atleast 20GB and then do it that way? Also how would it affect my current dual boot system?

    yeah u can use gparted, make sure you make a raw partition and active, then to format this use Disk Utility on OSX Installation from the Utilities menu. In Disk Utility, Select your Partition, and format you should choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then customize your Installation as I said before.

    After Installation you may have to repair Windows because there is an error which says “winload.exe” correupted.! Relax. Just insert the Windows VISTA boot DVD into the drive and restart. Click on “Repair computer” You should now be able to log in to vista without any problem.

    About Dual boot try this in Windows XP or Vista:

    Command Prompt:

    Diskpart
    Select disk 0
    select partition 1 (where the '1' is the partition number, replace the number, here '1', with YOUR OWN Vista/XP Partition partition number!)
    active

    exit

    bootrec /rebuildbcd
    y

    diskpart
    select disk 0
    select partition 2 (where the '2' is the partition number, replace the number, here '2', with YOUR OWN MacOSX Partition partition number!)
    active
    exit

    and restart

    Good Luck ;D

    Roger, I guess I will have to install tomorrow since the download won't be done until then. I will post how it goes and if it runs properly.

    Thanks again for the help.
