Default Installation help w/ Pavilion 764n

I have tried several installations such as iAtkos 10.5.1 and Kalyway 10.5.1 with no success. So, I then tried JAS 10.4.6 with no success. The farthest I have gotten is with JAS 10.4.8 including SSE2/SSE3 with PPF1 and PPF2. I can install fully with 10.4.8, but get a Kernel Panic screen on bootup. I have noticed this seems to be very common, but have found no resolution to this issue.

    My system includes the following:

I have an NVideo GeForce4 MX 440 with a Sound Blaster Audigy 2. If any other information I would gladly retrieve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what I need to do. Thanks!
