awesome...i appreciate all the help! I really do. I just popped over to InsanelyMac and they had a discussion about my broadcom network driver and I guess apparently that there are no drivers for my particular card that actually work, which SUX! Not to mention the System Profiler doesn't work at all. Crashes everytime I start it up which blows cause now I cant get specific details about the network card or anything else for that matter

Check the HLC theres a easy way with a app called osx86tool but I know if it can find all of them, or just google your hardware

Well this is what I have laying around:
Davicom DM9102AF (chipset-based) CNet Pro200WL 10/100 PCI ethernet adapter
Intel EtherExpress PRO/100 (S82557) 10/100 PCI Network Card
Intel 10 / 100Mbs PCI Ethernet Card (Intel GD82559)(2 of these)
Im not seeing any of these on the HCL for network cards. Man the HCL really bites. It looks as if the HCLs have not been updated for a very very very long time or no one has been contributing.
AND NOW!...i just realized that the cd/dvd drive doesnt not appear...lol..GREAT!

guess for some reason i missed the System folder...lol...appreciate it!
Hey, i got my kext to work but now my MAC is displaying all zeros. Now I was told that I am going to have to set this manually everytime I restart the machine. Can someone hook me up with something i can do to set the MAC to the normal one and then i am going to write a shell script to run it at startup

to edit your startup you to edit this: com.apple.Boot.plist
Look for it here: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
Good Luck

how can i force the mac address on the NIC in the boot.plist???? As far as I can remember, that only deals with the kernel. So i guess ur saying I need to embedd it into the kernel or something?
I tried the "ifconfig en0 ether XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX" (obvious substitution) and that didnt work in terminal. Im gonna try tomorrow taking the ether down, then doing the mac address command and then bring it back up and see if it snags it
Have any other thoughts?
