In the installation, u'll see a button called 'customize' where you can choose drivers and some patches, like kernel, audio, video, apps, languages, LAN/Wireless, keyboard PS/2 fix, etc
Question? You always did fresh installations?

yeah because I dont get the "customize" button.
The CD spins up, apple logo, then I get the welcome screen, hit next, accept the EULA kinda drill, then i do disk utility and format the drive to Mac OS Extended Journaled, then go back and select my drive and then click install. I never get a customize button anywhere on the disks that I have.
Yeah everytime I have used a new version, i format the drive completely and start over from scratch

Okay now that I have been a total IDIOT and not seen the customize button. Which features other than the obvious changes to VGA & Network would you suggest I change over to?

Ok lets try ideneb for example, try a patched kernel like 9.4.0 Modbin or Speedstep, for your video pick x series, and apple ps/2 controller if you have ps/2 mouse/keyboard.
Try that, if it doesnt work keep trying changing or just unchecking something in the customize.
Post your issues or success
P.S:I read something about your GX280, try to disable HT feature in the BIOS. Good Luck

IT WORKED!!!!
Alright. I used the iATKOS 4i and turned off Hyper Threading and selected the Intel Speedstep option and VOILA! it finally came up. Video was hella choppy on that beginning splash screen but I am sure I can fix that. I need to get some drivers for my video cause the iATKOS drivers were a little confusing on ATI ones (only offered 3 options and none of them matched my video card)
Since I didnt load any drivers for the video card or ethernet, how can I go about getting them loaded so I can get better video and internet going now?
Video: ATI 300SE/TD 128MB PCI-E Video Card
Ethernet: Broadcom 570x or 57XX Gigabit Ethernet Controller

Mad props on the drivers Chan!
okay now this is odd...my keyboard and mouse were working fine 10 minutes ago (i did not load any drivers now that I think of it) and now they are not working at all. Is there any way to get them working again or do I have to do a full install again?
**EDIT** Nevermind...i changed from PS2 to USB keyboard and mouse and it works now
