Use Kext Helper and the audio kexts from icchansan's walkthough.

    http://www.mediafire.com/file/z0oogn...888%20ICH9.rar

go to system prefs and sound. Output should be one of the line outs.

    good luck

Helpme05, they work man, sometimes it dont get the right output, if you get the lil speaker on, then you have sound, now...

Go to system preference, audio, then check the output tab and select the primary output, do the same for input, good luck

Sometimes, without the mod some models dont work, actually the only distro that work for me, was JaS 10.5.4, someone here have the same computer that your using, just check his posts. Now if you dont want to MOD at all just install retail.

I think the person your referring to never posted that they got it to work, just that they were going to buy a Mac in a few months. I'm going to try iPC 10.5.6, sounds like x94scorp had some success.
What do I have to lose, heck I'll try it with the modded Bios, wish me luck.

    Default RAM question

I've followed icchansan's tutorial, and everything is working great! thanks again! Running iAtkos v.5i on hp pavilion elite m9250f... Only question is in system profiler it says I have 4GB of ram but in all my CS3 apps, it says 3GB -- is this fixable or normal? I'm trying to render out footage from after effects and it errors a bunch saying:

"unable to allocate space for a 1920 x 1080 image buffer. You may be experiencing fragmentation. In memory & cache preferences try decreasing the maximum RAM caches size value and selecting the enable disk cache option, increasing maximum memory usage or both."

oh. normally (on a mac) it may take a LONG time to render, but it shouldnt error over and over.

any ideas? also is there a way to check if my processor is working at it potential?

    thanks to everyone!
