I got mine on ebay as a refurb.
I got mine on ebay as a refurb 410.00 with out PCIE card installed. 50.00 bucks for a 8600 gt 512 again ebay. Working well with the occasional glitch. I'm sticking with 10.5.5 until 10.5.6 is fully cleared. Iatkos v5i.
Hp elite M9340F, core 2 quad 2.66, Nvidia 8600 gt 512,6gb ram, Lan and Wifi working, blue tooth bung

kextd crashes on reboot, no Network/Realtek found
I have a weird one. I'm using 10.5.6 upgraded on top of a iAtkos 10.5.5 base (btw, firewire is working for me).
Boot -v -f -s, mount -rw /, delete Extensions.mkext and caches, type exit, everything works as usual.
Boot -v (even with -f), puts me into a kextd crash infinite loop, and system doesn't start. I can't tell from the crash logs what kext is crashing, but it doesn't get to the point of displaying the ethernet mac address of the realtek card.
Anyone else ever see this?

I'm thinking about getting a m9340f. Are these any harder to install/update compared to a custom built system with one of the recommended Gigabyte motherboards?

Well with gigabyte mobos you wont have any problems, just check the HCL, compare prices, get away from nforce mobos or AMD systems and you'll be ok, about the HP Pavilion, they are great ;D these days you dont need to MOD your BIOS, but for lazzy ppl like me XD, have to MOD and everything will work, we are having problems with 10.5.6 firewire, but I will try to fix it T_T.... no time >.<
