I've gotten everything to work, except the sound. is there a step by step for the sound card setup? I downloaded your files in the archive.zip but don't know what to do with it.

if your audio chipset is ALC888, this will work for you, install kext helper, and drag these kext into the app then type your password and restart :p

Dats odd, try deleting some kext in the extensions, like alcinject, AppleHDA, HDAEnabler, repair permissions and restart, then try again.
P.S. What distro did you install?

@_o; if you can try installing again select from the the installation realtek alc888, it should work @.o the file in the post installation is to get HDA. But if you have problem dont install that one, your the 1st person with this problem, and you have the same board =.=
If the problem still, google for ALC888 tarugas patch, and theres lots of packs for this driver, good luck.

I just started the reload. I hope this works...
-
I am up and running. I found out where I made the mistake. I looked at the screen shots of the bios setup and it shows to disable the onboard sound. I set it to auto this time and it worked (I still had to reload from the cd)
Now my rig is an HP on top of a hackint0ch with VM fusion running xp and all works happily. I've got the best of both worlds!!!
Thanks for your help.

10.5.6 Update notes on my 8430f
I followed the prepare for 10.5.6 notes (new EFIv9 etc), and used the while loop delete/rename the AppleIntelCPU* shell trick to install the 10.5.6 update from Apple.
Everything completed fine, but I lost audio. I had to reinstall the audio kexts from icchansan's guide.
Everything seems to be working great.
The only change I saw is that the System Profiler now shows "There was an error while gathering this information." for the root Hardware information. Anyone have any guesses on how to get this working again? It appears to be cosmetic only, but it would be nice to know what is causing it.
BTW, I started from a base iAtkos 4.1i 10.5.4 install; upgraded to 10.5.5 (with the while loop trick); I'm still to daft to get boot132 working
after trying several different guides including Munky's.
Oh and finally, anyone ever try and use a Firewire External disk on the HP Pavillion as the root disk. Ideally, I would have the boot loader on a usb stick, and an external drive connected via firewire as I can't get the HP bios to boot from a firewire disk.
