Help NOOB to MAC + Forum

Hi, I have a Gateway Laptop (Model - MX6215B) I have installed iAT**S 2.0i on it and every thing has installed correctly apart from the sound. Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix this.

I have always been a Micros**t user, and HATE!! Vista, i really want to get this working, any advice would be gratefully received.

Whats your Audio onboard? use a program called everest and check the audio chipset. :hack:

hey, i have downloaded the software and extracted it, however, i only have OSX on the system and i can see the program is a EXE how to i execute it? Cheers

Omg, sowwy the only way is installing Windows, can be under vmware fusion is really easy, or in a real partition.

i know that the Audio drivers for windows are Sigmatel is that any help? cheers

Ok, Lets try this

Download and extract: Taruga 1.2 Patcher

Download linux codec dump from linux for Sigmantel 9250: dump 9250

Just drag the dump file onto the frog icon, it gonna take some, after installation, restart.

If it doesnt work, you need to find your own chipset, try downloading a Windows XP USB LIVE

hey, i extracted the 'frog' entered password etc, it loads to please drag and drop your linux.... icon. I drag the txt file to the frog icon to the bottom as it is in the menu list at the bottom of the screen, Got This:

OMG YOU ARE A LEGEND!! yeah it worked, restarted and bam there was noise!!! it took me 5 attempts to drop it on the frog to work but it does,

i know this is gonna be another noob question the keyboard i have it set out as UK but i have to use the 2 key to get an @ rather than the normal key. I can live with it, but have you heard of any fixes?

also is there firewall software for a MAC? sure i wont need it.
