[Hardware Support] newbie advice, leopard or tiger for radeon 7500?
Hello everyone, first post. I am new to osx, but slowly learning.
I went straight to kalyway 10.5.1, then updated to 10.5.2 & graphics update. so I skipped right past tiger. As far as I know I dont have any kind of kext driver for my graphics card, in system profile it says no kext loaded. I am told that I wont get one to work as my card is too lame make a driver for 10.5, but I know that I can find drivers that will support QE in tiger.
Things mostly work, in an XP sort of way with no advanced effects. basic mpg's will play but not dvd's & vlc player is just blank screen when I play any kind of video.
I was looking for some general advice from someone who has tried tiger & leopard. I know leopard is better generally but if my 7500 card would be supported with QE in tiger, would I be better off running tiger until I get some better hardware?
Just looking for a nudge in the right direction, it would save me a lot of time trying tiger out & configuring it to find out for myself what it is like.
incedentally anyone know what happened to the osx86 site, cant access it for couple days now.

Tiger vs Leopard for Mo7500
I'm using a t42 with the same card and I have reinstalled OSX umpteen times and have found JaS 10.4.8 to be the best. It works on first boot, then you just have to add your 1014 wireless card, PCMCIA and ACPI support, then OGL and QE ..
Everything is working perfectly, and when I get brave I might back up my extensions and try the 10.4.11 update
