[Hackint0sh Support] Leopard won't work on Pentium 4
I'm having a problem with my PC running Leopard. As I've done some searching I realize that the vanilla kernel is not compatible with Pentium 4 PC's. The issue I have is that because I can't use the vanilla kernel I'm not able to keep it from freezing up. I did a test last night, and every other time I booted up OSX it just froze up on boot. I did this about 6 times. I unplugged hardware and that did nothing.
Someone said it might be because Tiger was able to run 32-bit systems and Leopard has trouble running 32-bit systems so that's why there is the vanilla kernel.
Others have said that if I use iATKOS with the r2 ppf patch then I'll be able to run it just fine. The only issue I have is that I'd rather not have to create another disk with the patch within the iso, and when I used iATKOSv1.0 it did not install correctly, so I used Kalway's version of 10.5.1 and that worked fine.
If there is a quick fix for this then I'd be very appreciative if you wouldn't mind to help help me with this or lend your opinion on this.
My PC Specs are:
Model: HP Compaq dx2000 MT
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 Processor 2.8 GHz, 512 K/1 MB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB
RAM: 759MB SDR
Chipset: Intel® 865GV
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 5200
HD: 111 GB (M)aster (B)oot (R)ecord (IDE Western Digital)
I'd love to, but right now it's out of my price range at this moment, so I'm gonna have to settle with Hackintosh. :p

Try install ToH RC2, works fine. I have a SSE2 Intel machine with same chipset for tests and worked fine.
Look for Leo4All (Ver.2)
I have it running in with:
Name Intel Pentium 4 531
Code Name Prescott
Specification Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Package Socket 775 LGA
Just remember not to restart your PC, turn it off and then on...I don't know why it hangs when restarts...but it's a very little bug...
- FV 1.0 until 2008Feb28 -> Virginize -> 1.1.3 FW iTunes Restore -> ZiPhone 2.4 & Fully Working.
- March08: Restored to 1.1.4 iPlus 2.0 and Sold it
- Now waiting...
Make SURE you are installing an SSE2 kernel
How do I make sure I am installing an SSE2 Kernel?
At my obscene noobie level all I know how to do at this point is boot the Leo4All DVD and go with the flow... In my case it goes through the install and all but when it reboots to finish the installation it freezes...
I think I am having a similar problem as yours...
I am trying to install Leo4All v3 on a 5 year old ThinkPad T41 notebook (
Chipset: Intel i855PM, Southbridge Intel 8280IDB (ICH4-M)) and it seemed to be installed fine but when the installation finished the first part and looked to boot from HD to finish the installation, it hang after displaying:
MAC Framework succesfully initialized
Using 3932 buffer headers and 3932 clusters IO buffer header

In this case has a incompatibility with kernel and IOATA;
