[Hackint0sh] Which solution for LG E500 ?
Hi I am new here, great forums thanks.
I have an LGE500 that I would like to install to. Here are the specs.
Chipset :Mobile Intel® GM 965 Express
Memory :2x2024MB DDR2 667MHz
LCD Display :15.4" WXGA(1280x800), *Fine Bright Technology
Resolution :1280x800
Graphics :Intel GMA X3100
Hard Drive :200GB SATA 5400RPM
Optical Drive : DVD Super Multi Dual Layer
Audio :24bit High Definition
I have tried using KALYWAY LEOPARD 10.5.1 intel SSE2 and SSE3. But I get the bluescreen that I have seen others discuss.
I am going to give Leo4All v3 a try as I have seen in other threads.
My question is, I have vista installed and dont really care to keep it. If I can get past the blue screen is there an option to format the drive and install to a clean drive?
Thanks

Hi,
"bluescreen" ? What is bluescreen?
Try boot DVD pressing F8 and type -v for verbose mode.
Post back errors to analyze.
Trick: Try install using a External USB DVD Drive. Intel 965 have some incompatibilities with OSX.
Goodluck,

Hi thanks for the reply.
I had a similar error as posted in this thread
http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41416
Since then I deleted the partition so I could start clean, used Leo4All and tried to reinstall. Unless I used cpus=1 it would just get caught in a loop of rebooting. When I did use cpus=1 it installed fine.
Now however I cant boot it. It freezes after "MAC framework successfully initialized using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"
I am using one mac os partition.

Do you think that this problem would be fixed if I used a USB DVD as you had said before?

Got myself an external DVD but unfortunatly the same problem occurs. I can install Leo4all using cpus=1 but I get this error when I try to boot it up
"MAC framework successfully initialized using 16384 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers"

Have you solved the keyboard problem for LG ? A common problem for LG laptop !

Well guys, this is a problem when your DVD Drive is internal ATA/IDE Slave and your chipset is Intel 945/965.
OSX doesn't recognize hardwares in this situation. If you can setup this, change Slave to Master via jumper, setup in BIOS, or connect-it on other internal ATA port (like a Master in).
In mine case, this 3 "fixes" doesn't solve problem. And I need to buy a External USB DVD Drive from Samsumg, that's work great for me.

Sorry I havent really gotten far enough to use the keyboard. I will post if I come across something.
I guess I am having some other issue, f41qu3 what distro are you using?
I have tried Iatkos v1, Leo4All (got through install but freezes in bootup), and Kalyway.
I tried using an external USB DVD - set it up as primary boot device and tried to install. I got the same results as when I use internal DVD.

In past I tried with success ToH RC2, Leo4All v3 and JaS 10.5.2 Beta 2.
Now I'm using Retail Server DVD and JaS_f41qu3 pre final (released in next days).
DVD as a USB device need work there.
Your HDD is SATA or IDE/ATA, need to be SATA to work, if your HDD is IDE/ATA, result is same, because OSX had incompatibilities with IDE/ATA controller.
