Hey guys, I have the same motherboard/error.
So far this thread answered most of my questions, but I have a couple more.

    My harddisks are as follows:

Disk 0: (JMicron PATA) NTFS XP Prim. Part. (62gb) - Extended NTFS Part w/ 1 logical part. (50gb) - Primary FAT32 BootMagic Part (80mb)
    Disk 1: (ICH8R) NTFS Storage (232gb)
    Disk 2: (ICH8R) NTFS Storage (225gb) - Type AF (6690mb)

With the IDE DVD hooked up to JMicron as well obviously.

    ----

I'm about to go get a cheap IDE to USB2 converter for the DVD, this will boot properly, yes?

The only thing I'm not sure of is being able to install to the SATA Disk 2 on the ICH8R...
    I have 2 releases:
    Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso
    uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 from demonoid

Is it just going to work fine? Or is there something else I'm going to have to do?

    Thanks!

    Smackum, IŽll try the following?
I have 3 Sata HD, I will install one with Vista
then, through VMware in Vista I will install the OSX86 on HD#2,right?

Then, will i be able to boot native from either OS?
Or will i need to goto Vista to be able to use MAC ?

    tks

grbrum - you'll be able to use Vista and OS X both natively without VMWare once you install - there are plenty of walkthroughs on how to do it on http://wiki.osx86project.org

Kreez, a USB2 enclosure is supposed to work, but i've never tried it; I just elected to get an internal SATA DVD-RW since a good enclosure actually costs about the same either way, so I just went the internal route.

I just bought a cheap little adapter for $30, 2.5"/3.5"/SATA --> USB. Had to file off the SATA connector on the adaptor or else the molex plug didnt have enough space to fit in

Seems to be working great, though quite slow, I think maybe it's not entering usb 2 mode or something.

Getting the Disk Utility to see my drive was strange, it wouldn't mount, so I spent 15 minutes pushing all sorts of buttons, most of them giveing me some sort of error, finally it decided to mount, no idea why it took so long.

Now to keep trying to get the right packages installed with uphuck 1.3. I think the first time I accidentally clicked the wrong box and I think all possible kernels got installed, so I think I'll have to make a redo.

can you paste a link to the walkthrough you mean? I appreciate your help.
I hope you dont think I am lazy though. I am searching. trust me. hehe

So, I installed OSX86 from within Windows (VMware) and I was able to boot the OSX86 native (I just selected the seccond drive as boot and it worked). BUT, after the grey screen with the apple logo, I got a blue screen (low res). and it is stuck there.

In Windows (VMware) I can go into the OS and use it, but it is very slow (kind of 5 or 6 frames per seccond).

I think it may be my video card (Radeon X1950 Pro - Powercolor) that is giving me troubles?

Does any one have an idea?

I AM SO CLOSE THAT I CAN ALMOST FEEL

    tks

when you go to boot from your Mac drive, hit Enter where it tells you to press a key to add kernel flags, and then type this:

    -v

hit enter. I'll start you up all verbose-like and tell you why it's crashing. Probably gets stuck on loading loginwindow.app. If so, you need to reinstall being sure to include the 10.4.4 loginwindow.app
