    Default Boot Camp Failure

So here is the deal, I (for no good reason) attempted to install Windows XP via Boot Camp. Ended up getting a Error on disk message and could not get Mac OS to boot... Did the restart hold down mouse to eject disk (and that worked), Held down option restart to pick my Mac HD to boot off of. Went back into Boot Camp Asst. and erased my Windows Partition. SO after all of that long windedness, My machine still requires that I choose a drive to start up off of. How can I get back to the good old days of just restarting without the option key??? Also if it matters when I pull up my OS drive in Disk Utility, it shows the name as only being "/" as where all of the other drives have the "/Volume/NameOfYourDrive/" I don't know it that is revenant.

In any case thanks in advance, if not for any other reason than getting to the end of this long question.
