Default [Advice] Best laptop for hackint0sh ?

    Hi all

I am planning to buy a laptop soon. My budget is around 1000 euros. What laptop do you recommend based on your experience? Witch one work best as a hakintosh ?

    Thanks a lot

    Try buy one based on Intel Core processor and Intel chipset (945 or newer models);

Prefeer one that have AHCI options in BIOS. HDD and DVD Drive prefeer SATA.

In case, buy a MacBook. More safe to work.

    Goodluck,

    Nice advice. Thank you.
What I'd really like to buy is a Macbook pro. Macbooks don't have a lot of ram nor a good graphic card. But mbp's are too expensive for me

That's why I'd rather buying a pc laptop around 1200 euris with muscles and transforming it into a hackint0sh...

    what about

If you're going to transform your PC to a Hack, you'd have to quit your day job and....search+read+experiment+no-sleep=start fresh the same old ...in the morning.
    By a real Mac!!

DON't try and use a toshiba a200. It wiped my vista and i lost my music...

I had all my important stuff backed up but music is too big.

It might just be my n00biness with hackintosh that did it tho...

You can try. If your DVD Drive is IDE, you need a external USB DVD to install OSX there.

Yes, search on forum for dualboot.

Does anyone know ANY notebooks that will work out of the box? Not even current ones - older would be fine too. Just something where the drive, the video card (accelerated), USB, wireless, the keyboard and the trackpad would all be usable just by installing one of the current Leopard-based DVDs?

    Thanks,
    RT

    Don't exist. Only out-of-the-box is a MacBook.
