Touch Dial is an easy-to-use application for one touch dial / sms icon on the home screen for iPhone.

This app can read the accelerometer and do phone dial or SMS dial for the same number based on the your setting for Portrait or Landscape Mode of iPhone.

Don't confuse a patch with a patched MobileInstallation file. The patch (i.e. the changes that must be made to the original file) is the same between 2.2 and 2.2.1. But since the original files are different, the resulting files are also different. So you can't drop the patched 2.2 MobileInstallation file in that folder on a 2.2.1 system and expect it to work.

If you don't have wifi, either look for a patched 2.2.1 file, or install javacom's patching application + the ldid package in different ways (like this way).

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

    Default Help on this

    Hi there,

is there any place to find an actual "how to" about the complete mobileinstallation - modifying thing?

I remember that I've found the repo on Cydia 2-3 weeks ago...now it's gone (I can imagine the reasons) and I find myself in the urge to get things manually, because there seems to be no other possibility to get it modded the "easy way".

For the general info, I upgraded on 2.2.1 (no prob for me, because I don't neet yellowsn0w). The problem is, that I don't have the slightest clue on how to make the phone accept ipas again.

Can anyone help me on this, pls?

    Thx a lot!

You can probably find the information in the thread that javacom linked to in post #3 above.

If there is an easy way to get things done, I really don't understand why users want the hard way.

If you don't have wifi, go to any wifi hotspot or use your cellular network.

If you don't want to install app, copy the source code and compile it in your iPhone and patch it there.

Using stale patched binary may work for some firmware versions, but not for all cases especially when you use it in Xcode build & go app to your iPhone.

javacom, is it a correct assumption that the patched binary is different between phones, even if they run the same firmware? It seems that way (that uploaded file is different from mine).

That one in mediafire is in fact the patched binary from 2.2 firmware not from 2.2.1.

You can just look at the upload date.
    It was uploaded on 11/24/2008
