i have a large collection of free app i downloaded from iTunes stored.

all are downloaded using a legit account (my own account with my real name).

i like to know the following:

1. are the .ipa i download (which are stored in mobileinstallation subdirectory) somehow signed to my name/account? ie., is the plist file inside the ipa or other registry file contain personal data?
2. can i just copy the .ipa file from itunes and transplanted it to another iTunes software running on another computer and sync it to another (different) iphone or itouch? will it retain/contain any personal data it may have collected when it was first installed?

i did that just recently, i got a new mac so i copy pasted my ipa from windows to mac
then i signed in with my itunes account on my mac and AUTHORISED my mac to use that account and those ipa and it works
u have to authorise the machine (max 5)

lordofdaflies, what happened if you do not sign into your itunes? do the apps still work? as you know, you can sync to itunes entirely in an unsigned itunes session?

when i synced my mac with itunes i selected only sync ringtones, contacts and cal, so all my music, apps and videos worked, but when i selected to sync apps and music and videos all my apps did not install and my springboard only had stock apps + 3rd party cydia apps

so i guess if u do not check the box to sync apps the apps will still work
