Default [AppStore][Req] No SSH or Video Recorder ?

I was surprised to see that there were no SSH or Video Recording apps in the App Store. Hopefully SSH will come soon. I'm not sure how video recording is accomplished. Does it require unpublished APIs?

Anyone working on (or waiting approval) for an SSH or Video Recording app?

I would think that an SSH Client is more than able to be added to the app store, the server on the other hand, i wouldn't think would be able to... since the SDK doesn't allow for daemons/services.

No SSH Server in the appstore, forget about that.

But, yes, it will be nice to see an ssh CLIENT on the appstore, it doesn't run on background, just so users can connect to their own ssh-servers at home, work, etc.

Given that you can get java based SSH clients for other phones (where the java VM wont let you access the filesystem), I see no reason why you couldn't do the same thing with the iPhone SDK. The best answer if you cant find one (and you know some Objective C programming) is to write your own and ask apple for approval

I was not talking about a Terminal or SSH daemon. Just an SSH client. This does not violate the SDK rules. I have to believe there are people working on it.

I hope so, I use ssh to direct SMTP outgoing mail to my own remote server, so I can send on whatever network I find myself. I upgraded but forgot about the loss of ssh. I wanted Outlook which works like shit.

AOL IM doesn't actually keep running it just stays 'logged in'. That just means that you will show as online to other AOL users. But, you have no background connection. You will not get any kind of notification of new IMs (until the Notification Service is put online in September). I'm sure they put the setting in now in anticipation for the Notification Service.
