Any way to get Nike Plus software from Touch to iPhone?
Now that there is a software native on the new touch to do Nike Plus, is there any way to bring the application over to the iPhone to get the same functionality? Can we bring it over the same way we brought over iPhone apps to the touch in the 1st gen days?

I'd be interested in that... as far as i understand it... the nike sensor uses bluetooth, which the iphone already has.... so theoretically, it should be hard to do... but what do i know?

No you cant, in the itouch 2g, the nike plus transmitter is a 2.4 ghz, wich was confused with a bluetooth chip at the beginning, since, been clarified to be an specific Nike+ transmitter, so in other words, you could get the app to run in the iphone, but without the appropiate hardware would be impossible to run..,
(on a side note, im guessin the transmitter its just an implementation of the bluetooth chip, but who knows...thats what i read...)

Well I already have the transmitter that I connect to my nano. What would happen if I put the nike plus software from the ipod touch on the iphone and then attached the transmitter at the bottom of the phone, would that work?

Doubtful, because the iPod Touch for example is tied to the motherboard.
Whereas, on the iPhone it might consider the dock connector "com1" or something. But maybe the app can be hacked to look for the receiver on the communication port?

Even if it were possible for the software to be transferred, it most likely would not work correctly because the iPod Touch 2g has wireless technology built in specifically for the nike/ipod touch program that the iPhone does not contain.
