Using mini USB port for IR dongle

Hi

I have a jailbroken Apple TV and I want to connect a IR dongle to the USB port of the Apple TV so I can control my TV and satellite receiver by blasting IR from my iPhone proxied by my Apple TV :p

I'm mainly Python developer and I've done very little programming in iOS, but I'm wondering if you guys can help me with two things:

Is the driver and everything to use the USB port available on iOS or does one need to do some hacking to enable that?

Is there a list somewhere of the private API's of iOS?

Also if you have any comments about this project please voice them

The USB port on the AppleTV is not designed for this, unlike the a regular computer, it is designed to operate as a USB device not a USB host.
It's very possible that the hardware is not present to support operating as a USB host.

No one has yet had any success in wiring up the pinouts on the motherboard that are designed for a 30 pin dock connector either.
