Yes, that is what you should be seeing.
In XBMC on the computer, go to Video section, go to the directory where you have the video/music you want, right-click the file and select "Manually add to library".
It should show up on apple tv's XBMC.

You can delete sources, it would be right click on the computer, but on the apple tv it's something else, try left, right hold menu I know there's a way but I forgot.

The struggle continues.....

I am able within XMBC on my MAC to see the folders I want to, it is all black, seeing as XMBC takes over the whole screen.

I then choose the video tab / add source, and see the folder on my computer where the movie is, or can add another folder via the add source, however this right clicking does nothing, it only makes the movie start on my computer, but no mention of add manually to library. I am talking about within the application of XMBC itself on the computer....

I press the control button, or the option button, and there is no such option to manually add to library where the motive is to see that library on the ATV2, not the computer....is there something I misunderstood by chance?

On your computer, Go To XBMC root menu, scroll to Videos, press right on the keyboard, select files, find your movie file, right-click it and it really should appear a 'Manually add to library' button.

So not within the application but in the root menu...well this is what I thought but I cannot find the root menu for XMBC only the program under applications....any ideas that the root directory is on a mac for XMBC? I have searched high and low, under library, users, etc, but to no avail....

If you give up on me I understand thanks for the info so far, I am getting ahead to where I am trying to go!

Sorry, by root menu I mean XBMC's main screen (before you go into any section) but it is within the application.

If I try to right click (control + click) on the main menu of XMBC before going into any submenu like video, etc, nothing happens like what you describe, a box opening up and one can add a movie to a library?

I basically need to be able to find the folder one can see on the ATV2 where I dump the movies on my computer for the ATV to stream from. I cannot find where the "video" and "music" folders are on the computer. When I open them on the ATV they are empty, and I cannot find them in the root directory anywhere? Where are these 2 folders located on the Mac Computer?

That is not what I said, you have to go to the Video submenu, click on the folder where your movies are (I am assuming you have already added those in 'add source') then you navigate until you get to the movie *file* (not folder!) and then you right-click it.

Actually, you don't need to "find where those folders are on your mac" because what you see in your apple tv xbmc (those video and music) are not folders, it may look like it, but they are just subsections created by XBMC Library, what you have to do is add the files you want to the library and then your apple tv will be able to play them.

None of these directions are working, I cannot right click anything to be able to see a movie on my ATV2. I can watch any movie in XMBC on the computer, but that is where it ends....I will try looking for some other manuals to see if I can figure it out, but this XMBC on the ATV2 has wasted a lot of my time to no avail.....I appreciate your time, and patience in trying to help. Not sure why it is kicking my ass so bad??

This part above is what I cannot seem to figure out...I cannot find these "subsections" on my mac to put movie files in so XMBC on ATV2 will be able to see them and thereby stream them.

Maybe I will just forget about XMBC on the appleTV and just use handbrake to convert files so I can view movies from itunes.
