    Hello,

I have jailbroken my apple tv 2g, os 4.1, I read somewhere that once your jailbroken on this device you can update and you wont lose your jailbreak, I am just wondering if this is true or not? I have tried searching for the answer but am having no luck....

    Thanks in advance.

From what i read and understand with every other apple device. Once you do an "Official" upgrade then you will loose all "jailbreak" status. Wait till an jailbreak of the new iOS comes out.

In the past there have been "partial" upgrades to keep your jailbreak status. Lately, you can use pwnage tool to create a modified IPSW update. The AppleTV 2 is slowly being integrated into the second method.

Right now, there really isn't a reason to jailbrake your AppleTV 2. Just backup up SHSH's so you can always downgrade and jailbreak.
