    Default Problems Jailbreaking Apple TV2

    I just got my new Apple TV2 this week and set about jailbreaking it to run XBMC. I'm not a Mac user, so I have downloaded greenpois0n for Windows and attempted to follow the jailbreak procedure. I can get into DFU mode without problems, and the jailbreak process seems to complete fine. I wait the suggested 40 seconds (plus another minute to be sure), and then I unplug the USB, plug in the HDMI, and see a "Greenpois0n" choice on the menu. I choose that, and on the next menu I select "Inject Software". Then I get the screen showing the Cydia module, and I select that. It tells me that the installation was successful, and that I should press "Menu" to reboot. So far so good.

    Now's when my problems start. I press "Menu", but it doesn't reboot. I've tried to just unplug the device and plug it in again, but when I do this I just get the original menus, never the NitoTV option. I've tried pressing "Menu" and "Down" for 7 seconds, and the device does reboot, but I;m back to the original menus. The installation of Cydia never seems to "take".

    Things that may be useful to know:
    * the ATV2 says it is running firmware 4.1.1. I believe from reading elsewhere that this is actually firmware 4.2.1, so I'm on the latest/greatest.
    * I'm running greenpois0n 6.1, downloaded from the greenpois0n web site.
    * I've installed iTunes 10.2, because I saw a posting somewhere that said it needed to be installed for the jailbreak procedure to work, but I'm not using it for any other purpose. I don't have an iTunes store account.
    * The installation of Cydia takes a very short time, less than a second. Is that normal?

    I'm at a loss as to how to proceed. All the info I can find (on this forum and elsewhere) leads me to believe I'm following the procedure correctly, but I seem to get hung up on the last step.

    Does anyone have any ideas?? Desperately want to get XBMC running on this thing....

    thanks in advance!

    solved - found a youtube video showing the jailbreak process, and from that I see that it takes some time to download and install the Cydia app. Traced that to a firewall problem - fixed that & now happily jailbroken.
