Can output be set to 480p?

It is technically possible for ATV 2 to run in 480p output mode. It did by incident until last update.
My question is whether someone already found a hack to enforce 480p output independent of the input format.
The reason is that my tv doesn't accept 720 p, but only 480p, 576p and 1080i and I want to use ATV 2 through a dmi2component converter to Philips flatscreen 30pf9975.
Any hack to set the output resolution to one of these three values would be very useful for all people using an older flat panel TV.

I've got the same question as I've a 480p TV in my main room. I know that before the last update it was streaming in 480p for some TVs. Can anyone out there help??? there must be a hack somewhere. cheers.

As my Flat Tv doesn't accept 720p please help me out. My ATV did run in 480p mode sometimes until last update! Is there anyone that could find a patch or should I get rid of my Apple TV?
