and is it only the mac BT keyboard that works??
At this point the only supported keys are the arrow keys, return and escape - the keyboard just replicates remote functions. I contacted Matthias Ringwald (who wrote btstack) about bt stack and this video - YouTube - BTstack Keyboard for ATV - where it shows a fully functional keyboard - his response was that was a quick hack he did, and wasn't something that was available as a package for the ATV2.

I was able to pair a Apple aluminium (the 2-battery version, eg. newer model) with the ATV2 with little problems. All keys are working as in the video. The KB has so far always been found when ATV2 is woken up from sleep by hitting space until it's found again. I did have trouble pairing with the older Apple aluminium KB (3-battery version).
How did you set up the keyboard?
