Question jailbroken AppleTV 2 - movie playback compatibility and exceptions... pls help

    Hi,

I have a 1st Gen Apple TV which is hacked and runs XBMC.

I stream movies wirelessly from a NAS device which has SD movies on it. These movies are typically .avi, etc..

The 1st Gen AppleTV plays these movies fine, but really struggles when playing 720p movies (avi, m4k, etc).

I am looking for a media player that can handle at least 720p avi & m4k (all the typical 720p movies you'd find online).

Can the AppleTV 2 handle 720p downloaded movies? Can it handle 1080p?? and more importantly, is there hacked software for it that will support all the types of downloaded movies you'd expect to see online??

Will the AppleTV 2 stutter when streaming 720p content wirelessly, or should i connect it to the network via ethernet cable?

This is what I'm hoping to achieve for my Media Centre Setup at home....

A Synology DS410 RAID Unit with 4x 2TB 7200rpm HDD's in RAID5. On the Synology box will be running software SABnzbd+ and Sick Beard.
Connected to my TV i want some type of media player, such as the AppleTV 2. The media player needs to play all type of movie content you'd expect to download from online, and capable of streaming the movie over the network from a NAS. 720p quality is important, 1080p not so important.
I also need to know if 720p is okay to stream over 802.11n as well, or if ethernet is a much better idea?

    Cheers.
