jailbreak without itunes?

Hi folks,

I've tried greenpois0n and limera1n without success. My win7 box doesn't have itunes or quicktime, and I'd like to keep it that way. Are they required, or would something like libusb work?

You MUST have iTunes installed to jailbreak.

i wondered as much, but how is it that some of the iphone / ipad devices have linux jailbreaks?

Quite a few of the iPhone hackers run Linux and have developed partial solutions for jailbreak, sync, activate and restore without iTunes installed.

These tools aren't really ready yet for ordinary users.
