Default Firecore Atv Flash beta 6 vs Patchstick.ca

Hi guys, I am considering buying an apple tv and was considering jailbreaking Atv, i wanted to flash it. Should i use firecore atv flash or patchstick.ca the ones which cost around 19.9 $ for firecore beta and 29.9$ for patchstick.ca. Which is better and why? Hoping to hear from you guys.
I know you guys might tell me to use the free patches but i rather use something thats easy to install and manage, plus i think 30$ aint bad! Maybe some of you might disagree but what i want to know is which is better....

This is the wrong place to ask this kind of question. The general principle of this forum is to freely share such ideas and techniques.

These products did offer some "exclusive" items as part of their ATV1 patchsticks. The reality is that their products for the ATV2 are either still vaporware or offer no benefit over the free versions (except a simplified install process)

First, Olethros's comments are for the most part correct, but there's something to be said for just paying a little money for something that works rather than trying to follow instructions on the web page and hope it works only to find you've missed a key step and have to start over (expressing frustration I've seen by others).

Now, as far as the differences between them, I, an a developer for the first-gen ATV, would recommend you don't send any money to the patchstick.ca folk. They blatantly violated software licenses, so much so that I wrote google to shutdown their google code site (successfully I might add), they insulted developers of the software they were distributing, and I found crashing bugs in some of their software when I played with it in the beginning (can't answer for it now as I've not touched it since).

On the other-hand, Firecore has been very supportive of the developers, even to the point of providing hardware to encourage development. So, while buying something from them doesn't provide much benefit for you aside from simple install process, it does provide benefit from the community in the form of developer support.

    Hope that's helpful.

Thanks gbooker. I understand that all you guys would want to go for the free versions but honestly i prefer the easier installation. Yes i would love to experiment but i really would like a simple process to achieve the same results. I might avoid patchstick but what i really want to know is the features which distinguish both these patches. Do they do the same stuff or is there any diffrence. Firecore seems to be adding a lot of features to the patch and it is still in beta ... so i am kinda confused if i should go for a beta and risk my atv?

Thank you Gbooker, I guess i will stay clear of patchstick .ca but what i would like to know is the diffrence between both of them, Moreover firecore is in beta6... so i am guessing they are still slightly unstable? i dont want to brick my Atv... i know most of the times i can get back to the original os but when i pay i would like to know what i am getting into so if anyone knows the diffrences between them would much appreciate the help. Also patchstick.ca offers open vpn plugin does this mean that i can use that plugin if i am outside us to get netflix?

It's pretty difficult to truly brick an iOS device (especially when the device doesn't have a baseband). DFU mode is built into hardware and can always be accessed.
I wouldn't be too worried about the beta6 tag.
