    Default Weird Booting Behavior

    Hi :

Cutting a long story short :

    1. ATV 2.3.1 patchsticked. Nito TV 0.7.1 installed, working well.
    2. Smart Installer activated within NitoTV to enable USB storage.
    3. Plug in external harddrive encased in SATA USB enclosure while ATV is ON, able to see the external drive in NitoTV's file menu. Able to access contents on connected SATA USB drive.
    4. Power down ATV, keeping SATA USB enclosure connected.
    5. Power on, ATV boot up, goes into console mode with a bunch of text. It will retry/reboot a couple of times and finally stall in with the console text.
    6. Power down ATV, unplug SATA USB enclosure.
    7. Power up, everything is fine, goes to ATV menu. NitoTV is up, everything working perfectly.

What's wrong with it ? Now I have to unplug my SATA enclosure everytime I want to power up my ATV.

    Help appreciated.

Did you use this usb drive as your patchstick? Because of the console output you mentioned I'd guess, that there is something on the drive, that can be booted from the ATV.
ATV only boots a signed boot.efi. So if this is on your drive, delete it.

    Question I got it to..

    Hi Guys,

My fresh install of Nito (2.3.1@tv and lattest Nito) has some weird booting behavior as well, I was hoping someone could help me.

This afternoon I tried a usb key (900mb) with some content on it, and that one boots just fine in Nito. (several times, first try)
Now I tried booting a 70gb HD, (freshly erased to HFS format) and after some tries it mounted.
I could browse the movies but after scrolling down the Apple tv just rebootet.

Now it simply states that the drive could not be mounted because nothing is on it.

which off course isnt true, I have the drive mounted on my macbook now and it is fine.

    Any ideas anyone?

    *edit*

After doing a new Install, I found out today that it was the Hd I was trying to mount that is giving the trouble.
Mounting another one did the trick, now everything is working like a charm!

don't know why this particular disk is giving so much trouble, but be sure to try a couple before anything else!
