Sorry for being quiet lately, I've had finals at school and such to keep me very busy lately. I'll try to get in contact with the Apple TV guys, but if not I'll release the source and put a donation link up or something.
In tangentially related news, I've developed a patch to the ALSA drivers to allow you to use the RCA cables on the Apple TV for audio under Linux: they sort of worked before, but the sound was so faint as to be unusable. I need to clean up the code, then I'll release that too (and submit it to ALSA/the linux kernel!)

Nightwatch, that would be awesome if you released it... I've got a 500g usb disk on its way, just hoping for something like this. I certainly would hope you could get that bounty, as the appletvhacks site seems to be up again. Not to delve to deep into your method, but are you able to install it without opening the AppleTV as the bounty requires? If so, I can tell you there would be a ton of donations coming your way from the awkwardtv folks.

Nightwatch, I'm interested in the analog audio patches for linux. I've been working on that issue on and off while working under Ubuntu and MythTV.

choshacker5151, if you're looking for a legitimate boot.efi file it is on the 1.1 update dmg which you can get here:
http://mesu.apple.com/data/OS/061-29...94-5248-45.dmg
and copy it from:
/Volumes/OSBoot/usr/standalone/i386/boot.efi
anything else you might need may or may not be compatible with a 1.0 installation so use at your own risk.
