Default Transfer files to Apple TV 1.gen

I have a Apple TV 1 gen. with 160GB storage

I like the idea of using the internal hard drive and want to transfer some DVD stored as .iso files (4.7gb) but when i use FTP throgh Filezilla (PC) the estimated time is over 1-2 hour for one file.
Are there any faster ways to do it?

What about conneting the Apple Tv with USB to the PC and trafer the files direct to the internal hard drive, is that possible?

I have searched the forum but cant find any solutions

    TIA

For both of my solutions I'm assuming you have the latest version of nitoTV installed.
    1. Move them to a USB drive, plug drive into AppleTV and copy them to the internal drive.
    2. Map AppleTV as a network drive and make sure the AppleTV is connected via ethernet, not WiFi.

sounds great with the first option, will i then be able to just copy the files from the external harddrive to the internal direct from the Nito menu?

I haven't used it in a while... You may have to SSH in with Putty and use command line.

putty is a telenet/ssh client for windows, it allows use to ssh into AppleTV.

You will have to use it to copy the files you want to the specific folder.
e.g: mv -f "target file" "target directory"

Basically anything over SSH Is considered slower that FTP. Although transferring it over LAN makes it faster it still takes up considerable time to transfer huge files all at once.

Alternatively plug the external drive to appletv and do a "cp" or "mv" command to the internal drive.
