Sapphire: Not using XML overrides, freezing when importing all data?
Two fold question here.
I'm running ATV OS2.1 & Sapphire beta 6.5.
First one — when I create an XML file (via TextEdit) to override, say, the title of a movie, Sapphire is not using this XML file and instead still defaulting to what it pulls from IMDB. I've followed these instructions for creating an XML file:
Overriding Metadata Sapphire Browser
Then, I've cleared the meta data for that movie (reverting it back to the actual file name, no poster art, etc.) and then refetch movie data. But, every time, it fetches the movie data from IMDB and ignore the title I've specified in the XML file. To create the XML file I'm using TextEdit (using plain text), then saving to my desktop and copying (via AFP) to the ATV. Is there possibly something wrong in how I'm creating my XML file? Do I need to create the XML file via a text editor in terminal while SSH'd into the ATV?
Second, I thought maybe the "refetch movie data" wasn't what I needed to do, so I tried the "import all data" option, but I've never, since day 1 of getting Sapphire to work, been able to run "import all data" —*basically, it hands on the first movie it tries to get data for. If I remove that movie, then it hangs on the next. If I remove that entire directory, it hangs on the first movie in the next directory, and so on. I've never been able to successfully run "import all data". I've tried deleting meraData.plist from...
~user/Library/Application Support/Sapphire
...a number of times, but that never seems to make any difference. Anyone know why "import all data" constantly freezes?
Thanks!
Kristin.

XML files were never fully supported because quite frankly, we never used them ourselves save one exception (firefly on tvrage is all out of order). It is better supported in beta 7 which is not yet released (and yes, exactly what you stated has been tested there and works).
XML files are considered file data, and so the file data importer is what reads them.
I was going to give you a link to how to diagnose a problem, but this forum won't let me post links (this may be the last time I ever visit this thing).

Any chance you can PM the link to diagnose the problem?
I'd really like to be able to get XML working!
