Smile Running on Internal vs. External HDD

Hey guys! I've managed to get OS X running on my External HDD and I have a few questions.

I mainly tried it to see if it could play 720p .mkv's any better than Boxee/XBMC, but the results were around the same. If I ran OS X on the internal HDD instead, would it run well? (for those who have tried), or is the hardware itself too weak?

Also, since it's running on the External HDD, can I just restore the disk onto the Internal HDD (backing up first, of course) and have it run fine? Or are there a few more steps I'd have to do?

    Thanks!

CrystalHD is your answer. There is no other way to get all 720p mkv to play smoothly on the appletv

You should expect worse performance under full OS X.
