Question Rowmote Pro and Apple Bluetooth Keyboard Working, Sort Of

    Hi, New member.

Iʻve found the combination of Rowmote Pro (on an iPhone) together with a newer Apple bluetooth keyboard (the aluminum one) works with some exceptions on my AppleTV with aTV Flash installed. The keyboard talks to the iPhone which then talks with the AppleTV via wireless. The system works with Couch Surfer and Nito/XBMC App so far, but has limited utility with Nito/Firefox.

I suspect this is due to Couch Surfer and Nito/XBMC utilizing the AppleTV Remote so as to allow for virtual keyboard input and/or virtual mouse input. So the system doesnʻt look for both at the same time. With Nito/Firefox the setup is more like a conventional computer setup, where the OS is looking for both mouse and keyboard simultaneously. Iʻve found that switching Rowmote Pro back and forth from keyboard to mouse can lockup Firefox, which explains the admonition to use a USB or wireless keyboard and mouse. Is this correct?

Iʻm just wondering if anyone else has tried this and got further along with it.

    Thanks for any replies!

I'm the developer of Rowmote Pro.

There's no reason that switching between modes in Rowmote should cause Firefox to lock up or to change in any way. What do you mean by switching between mouse and keyboard in Rowmote?

I've not used Firefox on an Apple TV. Which Apple TV are you on, and how did you install Firefox on it?

    Thanks for the reply!

Iʻve used both the Rowmote Pro on-screen keyboard mode and mouse mode, switching between each by tapping the icon-circle at the top-left of the iPhoneʻs screen. Also tried using an Apple bluetooth keyboard to access Firefox thru the iPhone while using the mouse mode on the Rowmote Pro app strictly for mouse control. At some point in both scenarios, the setup freezes and neither on-screen mouse cursor nor keyboard/keypad work. The AppleTV must then be rebooted.

I have the silver 1st generation AppleTV (running 3.0.2) and installed Firefox via the nitoTV --> Applications menu. I used the aTV Flash product.
