Newbie: ATVFlash or Patchstick or go hands on!?

Hi,

I have taken the deep dive and ordered an ATV. My main requirements are to:
- Play DivX avi files
- SFTP upload files to ATV
- Add a USB drive

I am contemplating which "hack" solution to use.

ATVFlash
Seems the most expensive once you go for unlimited updates but has the forum option

Patchstick
Cheaper solution but no forum but good documentation via Wiki. Seems the most advanced - better hack for USB drive?

Manual Hack
Read details from iClarfied but most of the hacks require a Tiger OSX CD and I have Leopard. So not sure if I can plus I am a nooobie :)

Which option would people recommend?

Use the patchstick program above. It's free, multi-platform, and works well.

I'll second the atvusb-creator recommendation. I tried using the Patchstick setup at AwkwardTV and couldn't get my ATV to load it. The atvusb-creator worked like a charm. I now have ssh and sftp access into the box. Now all I need is a Boxee invite to really play with it ... :)
